Message from the Executive Administration Team

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Tomorrow morning is the Junior Faction Carnival. We look forward to seeing parents, grandparents and other family members join us for a fun filled event. Don’t forget to show your support by dressing in your child’s faction colours and cheering them on! Please practice social distancing and remain in the designated areas. Parents are not permitted in the faction bays.

Health and wellbeing is a school focus area. On Thursday we are marking R U OK Day by dressing in YELLOW. The theme of 2020 is a conversation could change a life.   By starting a conversation and commenting on changes you have noticed, you could help a family member, friend or work colleague open up. If they say they are not ok, you can follow the four conversation steps and show them they’re supported and help them find strategies to better manage the load. If they are ok, that person will know you’re someone who cares enough to ask.

Quality Learning Environment:

It is with great anticipation we await the opening of the new junior playground, in particular the climbing frame, after the safety inspection at the end of this week. This project is the final upgrade for the Year 1-6 playgrounds and looks to serve students with elements to build upper body strength, balance, confidence and creativity. A massive thank you to the P&C for their significant financial support (45% of total cost). The efforts of all parents who contribute to the P&C through voluntary contributions, fundraising and volunteering ensures our students have a quality learning environment in which they can engage, grow and develop.

Teaching and Learning:

Integrating French – on 16 September the canteen will be celebrating a fabulous French recess.

R U OK? Day – Thursday 10 September – Students may wear Yellow

Students may wear yellow on the day to raise awareness and remind everyone that every day is the day to ask, “R U Ok?”.

Now more than every it’s important to remain connected to our people near and far. This year’s motto is: ‘THERE’S MORE TO SAY AFTER R U OK?’

Canteen

Thank you to all those who supported the canteen with your orders for our Father’s Day Tarts last Friday!

We’ve had some incredible feedback and we hope all the Dads enjoyed eating them as much as we did baking them.

HUGE heartfelt thanks to our superstar parent volunteers for working long hours to make it all worthwhile.

Volunteers Register:

We have only three weeks left of term and many blank spots on our volunteer sign-up register-especially this Wednesday! I’d love it if you could jump in with offers of help to get us through to the end of term.

Please click on the link if you can spare a few hours.

There are some exciting days coming up including Madam Ibbotsons special French themed recess, end of term sushi day and of course the most exciting of all-our cleaning busy bee!! These dates are in our sign-up register already and will be promoted through the school.

Our Term 4 Volunteer Roster will be opened up this week.

We look forward to seeing you in the kitchen!
