Message from Administration
Dear Parents and Caregivers
A lot has happened in the past fortnight! Thank you for the level of participation and engagement in the parent teacher interviews, they were extremely positive, and our staff appreciated your insights, input and feedback. Our students are lucky to have strong parent/teacher partnerships, crucial to ongoing progress and achievement.
The ANZAC day service was exceptional. The choir, Year 6 poets, wreath makers and layers, flag bearers and guest speakers all performed above expectations. Thank you to the parents and community members who supported this important event on our annual calendar.
Student Services
The social and emotional health, engagement, behaviour and wellbeing of our students is central in all decision making. It is a large and complex part of our integrated multi-tiered support system and policies in place at WPS aimed at supporting every student to succeed.
The school’s student services team consists of Students at Educational Risk (SAER) Deputy Principal Natalie Mueller, School Psychologist Melissa Birch, School Chaplain Alessia Mitanoski and Occupational Therapist and Well-being Dog coordinator Nat O’Neill and class teachers.
A new SAER policy has been collaboratively developed supported by the implementation of a streamlined referral process:

Do it For Dolly – Free Dress Day – GOLD COIN donation
On Friday, 10 May we will participate in the Do it For Dolly Day. Student initiated, Victoria Whitelaw, a compassionate year 5 student brought this day and its important message to the attention of the health and welling committee.
The day is dedicated to bringing the community together, spreading kindness and uniting in taking a stand against bullying.
Students are encouraged to dress in Blue, bring a gold coin donation and purchase delicious blue treats for the canteen. Posters can be seen around the school and students’ messages of kindness will be spread on butterflies.
If families would like to make an online donation, please follow the link https://www.dollysdream.org.au/fundraisers/WembleyPrimarySchool

Music Uniform Survey
The P&C and I have been in conversation to create and purchase new choir vests for the school. This is to replace the current blue vests that have been worn by Wembley students for almost a decade that are getting very torn. After discussions with Admin and P&C members, we decided by using the school’s Indigenous design would be a wonderful way of seeing the design embedded beyond Year 6 leavers shirts and staff shirts in a wider community setting.
Attached is a survey to get your opinion on the vest design. It is not compulsory to complete, but it would certainly be nice to hear the voice of parents in this change in our school uniform. As I am determined to order these vests before I go on maternity leave (In Term 2 Week 7) and have our Senior Choir students wearing them for the 2024 Massed Choir Festival, can I ask that this quick survey is completed by the end of Term 2 Week 4 (this week).
