Message from Principal

Dear Parents and Carers

It’s amazing to see that the end of the 2023 school year is coming to a close. I want to thank you all for all the support and patience shown throughout the year. We have had successes and some challenges, yet despite all, we continued the work that had to be done. Together we’ve learned much and shared many experiences.

Special thanks to all of you who have contributed in ways small, large and unimaginable! So many of you have supported our work in countless ways and contributed to the P&C to provide additional resources to do what we dream and know is good for children. Thanks for getting your children to school on time each day, for kind notes of encouragement that mean so much, for sending your kids with healthy lunches obviously packed with love, for making sure homework gets done… and handed in. Thank you for providing rich and engaging, well-rounded experiences for your children and knowing that education is about joy, wonder and fostering curiosity, along with the development of social skills so needed to succeed. For these, and a million other things, the Staff at Wembley Primary School are truly grateful.

To those of you who are leaving us for new places and adventures, we wish you all the best. Congratulations to our very capable Year 6 students who are venturing onto a new stage in their academic career.

To quote Dr Seuss ‘Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory’. We hope that the students and families farewelling our school look back fondly on the many moments that turned into memories at Wembley Primary School. As I leave at the end of the Term, I have many moments that will be fond memories of my time at Wembley Primary School.

I know there has been much chatter about who will be the Principal at the beginning of next year. I am delighted to let you know that Ms Milani Grace will be stepping into the Principal’s position for Term 1, 2024. This decision has been made in the best interest of the school.

Throughout Term 1, if Ms Donna Snow is not returning, a selection process will be facilitated by the Regional Office. Ms Grace knows the school, has built positive relationships with the school community and will do a fabulous job.

2023 has been a fantastic year. Our commitment to continuous improvement has helped us to remain focused on the things that are important. We have reviewed many of our programs including mathematics and have worked hard to embed our CARES values (courtesy, courage, accountability, respect, empathy, equity and service) in everything that we do.
